12 medals in Zagreb

Greek team collected 12 medals in the Balkan Championship, which ended yesterday in Zagreb, Croatia with 206 entries from 9 countries (Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, FYROM, Albania and Greece). In particular, Greek athletes won 12 medals, including five gold, three silver and four bronze.

Juniors and Amazons swept the medals. In both categories the Greek athletes won the gold medal in the team and the three medals in the individual competition. In the Junior Class for the third consecutive year, Greece is the golden Balkan winner in the team thanks to Paola Martini- Electic Elvis, Anna Danali - Mr Chayotte, Selini Popp - Brandy Sugar and Antonis Antoniou - Loon Illusion. In the individual competition, the golden Balkan winner was Paola Martinini with Elvis, second Balkan winner Anna Danalis with Mr Chayotte and third Balkan champion Selini Pop with Brandy Sugar.

In the Amazon category for the second consecutive year Balkan champion was Greece thanks to our team members Katerina Doubodel - Fleur VL, Valeria Zachariou - D 'Artagnan, Carolina Vogdanou - Antrax and Angela Karakassili - Captain Cunterbunt. Also for the second consecutive year, Golden Balkan winner was Katerina Doubodel and Fleur. Silver medal winner Valeria Zachariou with D 'Artagnan and bronze medalist Danae Besediotis with Campino 485, who only competed for the individual.

In the category of Young Riders (where Greece had only individual participation), Leonidas Palegeas with Calista de la Hart emerged as gold medalist.

In the Children's Class, after a jump off with the Romanian team, Greece won the bronze medal with its members Athena Zolota Jara - Stamiro 2, Annie Vatidi - C Anton H, Sofia Toki - Havana Vant Steenputie and Simeon Paraschakis - Boris Du Melnir. In the individual, silver medalist was Anni Vatidi with C anton H. In the seniors class the Greek team with Kriton Zafeiropoulos Dicaprio, Anna Papageorgiou with LC Waikiki Akino, Katerina Laskaridis with Concordia and Gregoris Voglis with Quelly Briquedalle won the bronze medal.
