Markopoulo to the Greek horse sport AGAIN and FOREVER!

• On October 24, 2024, the Board of Directors of TAIPED canceled the contest for the utilization of the Markopoulos Olympic Equestrian Center (OIKM) that had been announced in July 2022 and had been awarded in favor of the APLEKTON company.
  The cancellation came after the judicial developments before the Council of State (Council of State) which completely justified the positions and strategy followed from the beginning by the management of HEF.
  With this cancellation, OIKM returns to the status that was in place until 2022 before the competition.
  The cancellation of the old contest will be followed by the announcement of a new contest for the utilization of the OIKM, however, this time, the MANDATORY equestrian sports use will be foreseen with the upgrade of the equestrian facilities by the investor and with the presence of the HEF at the OIKM, in accordance with what is provided for in the 2002 PD and in Processing Minutes 21/2024 of the 5th Department of the STE.
  Until the completion of the new contest, the OIKM will be contractually allocated by TAIPED and ETAD to HEF for equestrian use.
  This disposal of OIKM to EOI means that suitable conditions will be created for its operation for competitive events and for investments and improvements to be made in its competition areas.
  Thus, in the next period, the OIKM will be upgraded and will regain its position as the undisputed center of Greek equestrian sport.
  This is a historic success and vindication of HEF which offers all Greek horse sport people joy, optimism and perspective for the future and its development!
