Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre
Usage Regulation of the OKIM
Markopoulo, 19/11/2025
To the Equestrian Clubs – Members of the Hellenic Equestrian Federation
Dear Members,
Following the completion of the renovation works on the outdoor arenas and the Indoor Arena at the Olympic Equestrian Center of Markopoulo, made possible through the generous support of friends of our sport, the new Usage Regulation of the OKIM comes into effect as of today. The Regulation aims to ensure the proper, safe, and fair use of the facilities by all members of the equestrian community.
In particular, regarding the Indoor Arena, which has been reconstructed to the highest specifications and fitted with quartz sand, increased requirements and expenses for its maintenance and care now arise.
To meet these increased needs and the associated costs, the Regulation introduces—for the first time—specific rules and a usage fee applicable exclusively to the Indoor Arena.
As for the usage schedule, it was deemed necessary so that the Federation can appropriately monitor and maintain the footing and overall condition of the Indoor Arena.
The fee for using the Indoor Arena has been calculated to be the absolute minimum required to cover the increased maintenance needs of the arena surface, ensuring the best service and safety for athletes, as well as allowing its operation during specific hours with the necessary staff.
The fee is intended to cover fixed costs (general cleaning, staff, fuel, arena preparation, utilities, etc.). In addition, responsible cooperation and participation from users is required, including compliance with the rules and the removal of horse manure by each user.
We kindly ask you to carefully read the attached Regulation and to inform your members and coaches accordingly.
This recently completed infrastructure project is of great importance for the sport of equestrianism, for our horses, and for the equestrian community as a whole. It is our shared responsibility to safeguard its quality and functionality. Compliance with the rules and timely communication contribute to the smooth operation of the facility and the best service for everyone.
Training bookings will be made online through the Federation’s website https://www.supersaas.com/schedule/HEF/Training_Session
Thank you for your cooperation and your contribution to maintaining a safe and well-kept training environment for all.
Kind regards,
The Equestrian Federation Commissioner
Giorgos Paraschakis
