on MEGA TV's "Koinonia Ora Mega" Regarding the Reopening of the Veterinary Clinic at the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre

Today, the Hellenic Equestrian Federation (HEF) took part in MEGA TV's morning programme Koinonia Ora Mega, highlighting the urgent need to reopen the veterinary clinic at the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre (MEC), in view of the upcoming tender process for the Centre's utilisation by the Hellenic Growthfund.

The only large animal veterinary clinic in Southern Greece has remained closed since 2024, despite the continuous efforts of the equestrian and wider sporting community. The inclusion of a mandatory requirement for the clinic's reopening in the tender specifications is an urgent matter of public interest and a responsibility of both the State and the authorities overseeing the tender process.

Representing the Hellenic Equestrian Federation was Board Member Mr. Giorgos Dimaras. Also participating were equine veterinarian Dr. Petros Zafeiris on behalf of the Hellenic Equestrian Society, and journalist and dressage athlete Anthi Voulgari, who recently lost her beloved horse, Dream, to colic.
