After 2022 Championship, the Hellenic Equestrian Federation, continuing the tradition of successful international events, organizes this year the "Athens Equestrian Festival 2022", which will be held from 2 to 5 June at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo.
More than 150 riders and amazons from many European countries are expected to compete for the total prize money of € 153,000. The Athens Equestrian Festival 2022 includes the Longines EEF Series World Cup Athens CSIO3 * -W, part of the Longines EEF Series 2022 Nations Cup under the auspices and organization of the European Equestrian Federation - EEF.
AEF 2022 also includes a CSIOCh for children, a CSI1 * and a CSIYH * for young horses.
The program of the Longines EEF Series Athens CSIO3 * -W is dominated by the Nations Cup on Sunday, June 5, which is a qualifier for the southern region of the Longines EEF Series 2022 series. Teams from 4 countries, Greece, Italy , Romania and Bulgaria are expected to compete in the Athens Nations Cup and therefore to qualify for both the Longines EEF Series Semifinal in Budapest in early July and the Longines EEF Series Final in Warsaw in September.
Top riders from Southern and Central Europe will take part in the other individual events of the program, including the Grand Prix, which will take place on Friday, June 4 at 17:00.
Two years after the pandemic and the entrance is free for the spectators, while all the classes of the AEF 2022 will be broadcasted in live streaming from the online platform https://www.clipmyhorse.tv/en_EU/ and through the site of the event https://www.athenscsi.gr/en/live-streaming
ERT, the National Channel, as a communication sponsor, will broadcast live the Nations Cup on Sunday, June 5 at 16:00.
The program of the event will be held in the mornings and afternoons, while it will be completed on all four days after 18.00.
Also, parallel and other events will take place for the young friends of the sport. There will be ponies for the children to ride on Saturday 4/6, from 10.00 to 12.00, while they will have the opportunity to get to know and embrace the Gentle Carousel therapeutic ponies.
The event is dedicated to the amazons of life and supports the mission of EMEIS, the Scientific Mastological Society, Iasi, Support, which is the only non-profit charitable organization in Greece which not only educates the public on prevention and early detection but provides access to treatment to breast cancer patients who would otherwise not have any medical care.
