The big winner is the Italian team in the Athens Cup of Nations!
2nd place for the Greek team
Bbig winner at the Longines EEF Series Athens Nations Cup was Italy. Athens Equestrian Festival 2022 was successfully completed yesterday afternoon at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo.
The Greek team with Angelos Touloupis with Lord Mexx, Karim Fares with Captain Z, Elias Baliousis with Casper d'Argouges and Giannis Skandalis with Ego di Villagana did their best and took the 2nd place, while in the 3rd place was the Romanian team.
Italian athletes Omar Bonomelli with Chippendel de la Tour, Emilio Bicocchi with Delirio delle Sementerecce, Paolo Paini with Japonica di Ca San Giorgio and Bruno Chimirri with Samara collected 8 penalty points in both rounds and won 1st place. The Greek team had 16 points and the Romanian team 17 points.
"My horse Lord Mexx was amazing on both rounds. The Greek team was a bit unlucky, but the 2nd place for a start is very good. Our next goal is the Longines EEF Series Nations Cup in Gorla, Italy in two weeks. I hope we are even better there "said Angelos Touloupis.
Angelos Touloupis and Kannandillo scored a hat trick in the Young Horses class. He also won the final competition with a double clear round and a time of 34.94. Second was Mariansi Kyriakopoulou with Love Me with 0 points and a time of 38.43 and third was Dimitris Natsis with Cresco with 8 points.
At the 1.30m high Protergia CSI1 * Grand Prix. in 2nd and 3rd place were two Greeks, Katerina Laskaridi with Venedig and Athanasios Karaindros with Heline Odessa after a jump off and had clear rounds and times of 38.63 and 37.49 respectively. In 1st place was the Turk Ozgur Ozgan with Gotillia with 0 points and the best time of 37.49 in the draw.
In the Children's Grand Prix sponsored by Nuxe, the winner was Vasiliki Baliousi with Times Square with the fastest clear round in time 35.64. In 2nd place was her brother, Loukas Baliousis with Uidji with 0 points and time 38.78 and in 3rd place Stefania Besiou with Charlie Sheen 3 with 0 points and time 39.62.
