Press release

Greek Equestrian Sport will participate in the top jumping event for young athletes for the first time.

Annie Vatidi, who met minimum requirements and was selected by the Hellenic Equestrian Federation following the proposal of the Technical Committee, will compete in the FEI Youth Equestrian Games 2022 https://inside.fei.org/fei/disc/ jumping / main-events / yeg-2022), which will take place in CHIO Aachen, Germany from June 23 to July 2.

The Youth Equestrian Games (FEI YEG 2022) replaced the Youth Olympic Games (Youth Olympics 2022) which were postponed due to COVID 19.

HEF, in time from May 2021 and with planning, had set the Youth Olympics as the main goal and had chosen as a qualifying path the FEI Jumping World Challenge CATEGORY A, which for this reason was organized in October 2021 at the Markopoulo Olympic Center. This competition, in combination with the Athens Equestrian Festival 2021, gave the opportunity to Greek athletes to qulify and the opportunity to HEF to participate today in the World Games and shine on the main international stage of our sport.

Thirty qualified athletes from around the world, aged 14 to 18, representing their countries and continents, travel to Aachen and the legendary Soers Arena to compete. The athletes will compete on loan horses offered by the organizers, with which they will be drawn and prepared for about a week, until the start of the competitions which will take place on June 29.

The program of the games for the first two days includes a team competition that will involve five athletes from each of six continents. Specifically, there will be teams and athletes from Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Annie Vatidi participates in the European team together with four other athletes from Belgium, France, Great Britain and Germany.

The final of the individual compettion is scheduled for Saturday, July 2.

The presence of the HEF and the participation of Annie Vatidis in this biggest appointment for young riders is a great success, honor and recognition for the whole Greek Equestrian.

Good luck Annie!
