Markopoulo, July 1, 2022

Press release

Yesterday was a unique day for Greek Equestrian!

Two Greek jumpers in different events made us proud. Annie Mayo Vatidis at the Youth Equestrian Games and Angelos Touloupis at the Grand Prix of Budapest.

Annie, in the first participation of Greece and herself in the Youth Equestrian Games, managed to climb the podium together with the European Team, winning the silver medal in the Team Competition. The three teams of Europe, Africa and North America tied for 1st place after the two rounds with 0 points and entered the jump off. Best and fastest was Mimi Gochman from North America, who won the gold medal, while the bronze medal went to Africa.

Annie Vatidi along with Despacita in both rounds of the Team Competition had very good performances with only 4 penalty points in each round.

The 18-year-old amazon will compete in the Individual Competition tomorrow Saturday, July 2nd at 2:15 p.m., completing her presence for Greek Equestrian at this year's Youth Equestrian Games.

The recent major participations and successes of Greek Equestrian in the international arena are part and result of the long-term planning of HEF at all levels and equestrian sports since 2016 to gradually prepare properly and support the participation of Greek riders in all important international equestrian events, both in general, and in the context of the Pre-Olympic Preparation Program for Paris 2024 supported by the HOC.
