This week the Balkan CH for the 4th time in Markopoulo!

After the Athens CSI* EEF Evolution League, the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo hosts this week another very important double equestrian international event. It is the Balkan Championships 2023 in the two Olympic sports, Jumping and Dressage from Thursday, 7 to Sunday, 10 September.

The Balkan Championship, after two years, returns to Greece and will be held for the fourth time at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo. Jumping will take place at the Olympic grass arena from Thursday, 7 to Sunday, September 10, while Dressage will take place on the three days of September 8-10 at the sand arena. 9 Balkan countries are expected to participate, Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, and of course Greece with about 200 riders and horses.

In jumping, the athletes with their horses will claim the gold medals in the individual and team events of the categories Children, Juniors, Young Riders, Seniors and Amazons, while in dressage they participate in the categories of Children, Juniors, Young Riders and Seniors. The first vet check of the showjumping horses is on Wednesday, September 6 at 11.00 and the dressage vet check is on Thursday, September 7 also at 11.00. On the same day at 19.00 the opening ceremony of the championship will take place with the parade of Teams.

The entrance is free for the public, while the programs of both sports will start every day and on the weekend at 9.00 and will end after 18.00.
