The Metlen Championship in Thessaloniki & Athens!

With a participation from all over Greece and increased interest, the Jumping & Dressage Championship will be held next week, the METLEN Championship, June 26 - 30 in Thessaloniki and Athens respectively.

More specifically, for the first time Thessaloniki and the Equestrian Center of Macedonia with the Ippos Club equestrian facility in Nea Raidesto of the Municipality of Thermi will host the Jumping Championship from Wednesday, June 26 to Sunday, June 30, while the Mesogeion Equestrian Club in Koropi (iclose to the airport) will host the Dressage Championship from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th June.

In Jumping, the Champions in the age categories, Children, Juniors, Young Riders, Seniors, as well as the Amazon Winner, will be selected in a three-day competition with four rounds. Rider/Horse pairs are ranked according to the total penalties of the four rounds and in case of a tie from the ranking of the 3rd day (3rd and 4th round). The competition program also includes a category for Young Horses, in a three-day competition with three rounds, as well as other competitions.

 

In Dressage, the Champions of Children, Juniors, Young Riders and Seniors from a three-day competition will also be announced. The title of Champion in the Children's Category will be decided based on the highest score (average %) in the A3, A4 & A5 events, in the Juniors in the C4, C5 & Freestyle events, in the Young Riders in the Da, De & Freestyle and in the Seniors in the events Da, Db & Freestyle. In addition to the Championship events, there will also be events of the 7th competition.

Three top foreign judges, Raphael Saleh, who will also be the President of the Ground Jury at this year's Olympic Games in Paris, the Mr. Lukasz Walter from Poland and the Mr. Clive Halsall, from GB will judge the Dressage Championship

HEF will broadcast in live streaming via the international platform https://www.clipmyhorse.tv/en_EU/ on the HEF's website https://www.hef.gr/index.php/el/live-streaming-gr  on Wednesday, 26/6 the first rounds of the Young Riders and Amazons Categories and on Thursday – Sunday all events of the Jumping Championship from Thessaloniki.

The entrance will be free for the public in both facilities, in Athens and Thessaloniki, while the programs of the competitions will start every day and on the weekend at 8.00 am and will end after 5.00 pm, depending on the weather.
