METLEN Championship
The Jumping & Dressage Champions 2025!
The METLEN Equestrian Championship was successfully concluded yesterday late in the afternoon at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo with the announcement of this year’s Champions in the two Olympic sports, Jumping and Dressage.
In Jumping, the competition was very interesting and competitive. In the Seniors Category, for the first time in his career, Dimitris Natsis of IOKOUB emerged as Champion, riding Corrie Z with a total of 12 points after four rounds. Second was Anna Papageorgiou of IKEM with Janning with 15 points and third was last year’s Champion Elias Baliousis with Casper d’Argouges of IOA with 16 points.
In the Young Riders Category, the Champion was Loukas Baliousis of IOA with Uidji with a total of 8 points in the four rounds. In 2nd place was Maria Kavalari of IOKAL with Sunny with 16 points and in 3rd place was Artemis Talliaki of IOB with Valence with 44 points.
In the Juniors Category, the Champion title was won by Marili Katsamba of IOB with His Little Diamond, having a total of 8 points in the four rounds. In 2nd place was Alexandra Marinopoulou also of IOB with Peaches 40 with 12 points and in 3rd place was Stefania Besiou of IOMS with Amira, also with 12 points.
In the Children's Category, the Champion was Ioanna François of IPPOS with Amber Valetta with 4 points and the best time. Second was Ioannis Brastianos with Good for Gold of AKIKPPA with 4 points and third was Melina Louverdi Koranti of ETHIOT with Ermis de Fanfar with 8 points.
In the Amazons Category, the winner was Sasha Hadjiprimou with Cendrasine of IOBOP with 4 points in total. Second was Dimitra Iglesi with Jordan vd Heffinck Z of EIO with 8 points and in 3rd place Thanoula Kamperou of IPPOK with Belair de la Vigne with 12 points.
In the B Seniors Class, the winner was Tasos Raisis with Halo Sun of AIOKEN with 0 points and the best time after three rounds. In 2nd place was Anna Papageorgiou of IKEM with Hector du Plessis with 0 points and in 3rd place was Konstantinos Baliousis with Girly Day of IOA with 4 points.
Finally, in the young horses category 5 years old, the winner was Pelle of IOKOUB with Antonis Antoniou and in the category of 6-7 years old, the winner was Notre Dame with Monika Martini of EIO.
In Dressage, the competition showed great interest until the last moment, while there was a record number of participants in most categories. In the Seniors Category, for the third consecutive year and with a different horse, Christina Sachinoglou of IOM emerged as Champion, this time with Marilyn Monroe, collecting a total percentage of 66.31% from the three events of the three days, St George, Inter I, and freestyle. Second was Eleni Myrat with Cosmote Veronica of EIO with a percentage of 65.36% and in 3rd place was Maria Eleni Tourmomani, last year's Young Rider Champion, with Seine Tosca of EIO with a percentage of 63.79%.
In the Juniors Category, Danae Giannopoulou with Barceolona of IOB was crowned Champion for the second time in a row, collecting a total percentage of 71.23 from the three events C4, C5 and freestyle. Second was Korina Meimari with Joe of AIOAT with a percentage of 67.3% and third was Athina Bikaki of IOR with Zoie with a percentage of 64.16%.
in the Children's Category, where the title was decided in the last A5 event, for the first time, Hara Giouaki of IOR with Maximus was crowned Champion with a total percentage of 71.58% from the three events A3, A4 and A5. Second was Phaedra Kritikou with Guidany of EIO with a percentage of 70.84% and 3rd was Angeliki Katsouli with Ninniefeh of IOE with a percentage of 69.98%.
