Successful Opening of the 1st Championship Competition in Markopoulo
The three-day 1st Championship Competition in Show Jumping concluded successfully yesterday, Sunday, at the indoor arena of the Olympic Equestrian Centre of Markopoulo.
In the top event of the competition, the Grand Prix (1.40m), the winner was Paris Koutsoyiannis (IOVOP) with Pellegrino, delivering two clear rounds. Dimitris Natsis (AIOKENA) with Cresco finished second with 3 penalties, while Drasco Dokic (IKEM) with Fuerte placed third with 4 penalties.
In the Juniors category (1.30m), following a jump-off between four riders, the winner was Konstantza Andrinikou Kalyva (EIO) with J. Clearway, clear in 37.76 seconds. Stefania Bessiou (IOMS) with Diana vd Tojopehoeve secured second place, also clear, in 38.90 seconds, and Vasiliki Baliousi (IOA) with Helsi d’Amaury finished third with 4 penalties in the jump-off.

In the Young Riders category, held as part of the Small Grand Prix at a height of 1.35m, first place went to Paraskevi Kanellaki with Alvaro Mongrenier of IOKOUV. Second place was taken by Artemis Talliaki with Valence PPZ IOB of IOV, and third place went to Maria Kavallari with Sunny of IOKAL.
In the Children’s category (1.15m), following a jump-off among seven athletes, the winner was Evanthia Kourkoumeli (IOVOP) with Helia de Latour, delivering a clear round and the fastest time of 30.14 seconds in the jump-off.
Second place went to Elisavet Anastasiadou (IPOTIS) with Spider 28, clear in 32.32 seconds, while Maria Maragkou (AIOE) with Atlanta de Martivast also finished clear to take third place with a time of 35.06 seconds.

In the Ladies category (1.25m), Demi Igglesi (IOA) was the standout rider, claiming both first and second place with her horses Dragon Boy and Jordan vd Heffink, delivering clear rounds in 35.24 and 35.26 seconds respectively.
Third place went to Vasiliki Dimitra Chatzara (ETHIOT) with Sjilaz Todor, clear in 37.86 seconds.

In the 7-year-old Young Horses category, the winner was One of a Kind, ridden by Kriton Zafeiropoulos (IOMS).
Following the first leg, the winners have already taken an early lead in the overall standings toward the crowning of the 2026 Champions and the 2026 Leading Lady Rider. The title will be decided over a series of five competitions, culminating in the Final at the end of June 2026.
The second Championship competition is scheduled for 20–22 March in Thessaloniki, at the Ippos Club.
